The Body Shop Shimmer Lotion
This is the only Body Shop product I dislike. I'm a HUGE fan of their products, but this one is not loved by me at all. It smells very nice and coconut-y, but I think the good things end there. It doesn't moisturise at all. They should call this 'Edward Cullen Shimmer Paste'. SO much shimmer, it gets over everything - clothes, furniture, other people you come into contact with etc. I don't like wasting products, I'll probably wear this to the beach or something so it'll just wash off anyway (ha).
Swisspers Eye Makeup Remover Pads
Too rough, too dry. Seal isn't sticky so that makes them more dry over time. It does not remove waterproof mascara like it claims to...unless you want to tug furiously at your eyes. I think they missed the memo about eyes being a delicate area. You can probably see my packet is nearly used up, I don't use it for my eyes, but for things like wiping off makeup brushes or any stray makeup that gets on my hands.
BYS Crackle Polish
It cracks nicely. Then it flakes off. Unless you use a top coat, it will just peel off. I don't think this is worth $5. Meh.
Orly Polish in Walk Down the Aisle
I really like Orly polishes, they are probably one of my favourite brands. But this colour is just sucky, the formula is really thin and watery and it takes about 100 coats to get the colour opaque. I do not have the patience for this. Luckily, it was only $1 from Priceline...now I see why.
Boe Beauty Lipgloss
I'd recommend this lipgloss to you if you like that feeling of gluing your lips together. It is so sticky, when you pull the wand out it makes that pop sound. It's a shame really, I've used a few other Boe Beauty products which have been quite nice. This was only $2, no big loss.
Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm
No this isn't the new range (the new crayon type lipstains are called Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain). I hate this. I wish I hadn't wasted my money. The stain end is like a felt tip pen that feels really odd to put on your lips and the colour sinks into lines...so unless you have perfectly smooth lips, it looks bad! It's not that pigmented either. The colour I have, Dawn, is like a nude-reddish colour...someone asked if I had sore bleeding lips. Aaaahhh. Luckily, the colour wears off quickly anyway (unless you pack it on). The balm end is also bad, its so flimsy it'll break off unless you're super careful.
Elf Hypershine Lipgloss
Again, this lipgloss is just too sticky. The twist tube is irritating, now theres lipgloss all through the inside of the lid and I have to wash my hands after using this because they get so gluey.
I am NOT trying to diss these brands at all, in fact, most of these brands appear frequently in my makeup/beauty collection. I am simply sharing my opinion about products that I did not like. I still like these brands and will continue to purchase their products.
Which products do you hate?
I hate those revlon just bitten felt tip pens too! I found the colour would "take" more around the edges of my lips and not in the centre, I couldn't get it to work and ended up chucking it out! I nearly made the mistake of buying two from the dollar cosmetics club, I thought they were the new balm stains but realised just in time!
ReplyDeleteI actually thought they were the new ones too, they have really similar names. I'm going to chuck this out and now we can buy the nice new ones and be happy :D
DeletePlease do a review on the new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains when you get it, would love to hear your thoughts on it.
DeleteI've ordered one from a US based Ebay seller, I will post a review when I receive it :) looking forward to its arrival!
