A trick of the light?

I repurchased a new bottle of Revlon Colorstay off Ebay because I wanted the old formula, not the new pump version. I ordered the same shade...is it just me or does it look different?!

The new one is on the right. I ordered it from a UK seller...the shade looks a bit different, or am I just being crazy? And the text doesn't quite line up. Also I noticed that my old Colorstay still smells the same as it first did (like paint!), whereas the new one has no smell.

So my question is: are there slight variations in each country? I honestly thought they would all be the exact same thing. Or maybe it has something to do with batch variations. Either way, I'm not so keen to throw out my old bottle now...

What do you guys think?

  1. I can definitely see it. The one of the left is much more yellow than the one on the right. It's weird isn't it? You'd expect the same product if you ordered the same thing :/

    1. Weird! It looks alright, but the coverage does not seem as full as the other bottle...or maybe I'm paranoid haha

  3. Its probably like you said. A slight variation in the batch? Though its weird that it wouldn't have the same smell?

  4. It's definitely different! Is their SPF higher or lower? I wonder why it's so different!

    1. The UK version has a higher SPF of 15 whereas the Aussie one (on the left, bought from Target in 2013) has an SPF of 6!! That's a pretty big difference to me...I love this foundation because its great to wear at night/for flash photography but the increase in SPF might not be as good...

  5. That's strange, I know when EL changed their formula, the color changed even though the shade name remained the same.

I really wanted to try the old Colorstay formula, it sounded fantastic!

    1. I think its misleading to change the colour and leave the name the same! Yeah it is a great foundation :)

  6. It looks a little dark. When I worked in the industry, I got told if foundation's been left for too long/get in contact with air the colour will darken... I wonder if you can find the batch number
