Face of Australia budgeproof eyeshadow

LIMITED EDITION? Well, in that case, I must have it!

That's pretty much what I thought when I heard about the new FOA shadows. No doubt they're quite similar to the Maybelline Color Tattoo's, but I still wanted to try them out.

There is a nice range of colours and I was particularly drawn to the deep blue colour (3rd from the left), but I already have this colour in the Color Tattoo! The colours are quite similar and I think this range really would have benefited from something bright and unique. As for the amount, I can't seem to find anywhere on the tub how much product there is but I'd say its very similar.

Tip Top Taupe

I finally settled on the taupe, because its a colour I don't have and generally wouldn't bother with. It's a lot sheerer than the Color Tattoo's I have, so it feels smoother and not as thick. Am I making sense?

This colour is pigmented and shimmery, and really easy to apply. Check out my FOTD post from a few days ago to see how it looks on the lids!

As for wear time, hmm...it didn't crease on me, without a primer, but I did notice it faded a bit, possibly because of the sheer formula. That aside, I think its a great cruelty-free option to the MNY Tattoos, not to mention a few dollars cheaper, so if the colours appeal to you, why not try them out? :)

Have you tried this before? What do you think?

  2. Looks great Sarah! Definitely going to add it to my shopping list. Also, I did find that the Color Tattoos felt heavy on my lid. But then again, i'm just weird.

    1. They are a bit heavy, in comparison I think. So these might be better for you :)

  3. I saw these in store, but I didn't really fancy any of the colours! Good to know they are cruelty free though :D

  4. Thanks for reviewing them, I was interested to see how they would stand up against the colour tattoos!

  5. Great review - they are definitely lighter and smoother than the Maybelline! But I agree that they could have made their colours a point of difference instead of keeping them fairly similar.

    1. I would have been more excited if there was a better colour range. Although there is a yellow shade (can't really see it in my pic) which is a little bit unique, I suppose.

  6. Thanks for reviewing this Sarah. I'm amazed that these didn't crease (usually shimmery shadows tend to crease). I have to give these a try and check out the different shades :)

    1. No problem :) I am glad they didn't crease but I still think the color tattoo's are better with lasting power!
