This week's haul (with cheap Maybelline!)

Just a few bits and pieces here and there...

Chemist Warehouse
Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick
Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick

Seeing as Chemist Warehouse has 50% off Maybelline until the 11th of May, I felt obliged to visit! I was actually planning on buying some more of the Vivids Color Sensational Lipsticks, but after swatching the testers I realised the colours were too out there for me! I have Hot Plum which is suuuper gorgeous, but the others would probably look garish on me.

Maybelline Mascara
(RRP $19.95, sale price $9.95)
I actually have another one of these mascaras lying around, waiting to be used, but I figured I'd stock up while they're cheap. Does that make me a hoarder?

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 'Sloane's Plum'
(RRP $13.95, sale price $11.69)
Apparently Rimmel is a little bit cheaper too. On Instagram, I saw swatches of a Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in a shade called Dark Night Waterl-oops (what a name!) and I was instantly in love. It was a deep plum, perfect for winter, and it kind of looked like MAC's Rebel, which I do not own but would like to! Much to my dismay, I don't think Australia has this shade, I couldn't see it anywhere, but this colour seems pretty close. Check out some pictures here. Now I just need an excuse/occasion to wear a vampy lip shade.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in 'Pink Peony'
(RRP $16.95, sale price $8.48)
I was wearing a peachy coral coloured top the other day and was at a loss when I realised I didn't have a colour that matched! So obviously I've dealt with that problem; this shade is a frosty shimmery peachy-pink colour that hopefully I'll be able to wear quite a bit.

Powder Perfect polishes
Shadow Hunter
Elation
Widow's Walk

I also placed an order with Powder Perfect and bought some pretty polishes! This is the first order I've placed with them and I'm very pleased so far. The polishes are very affordable too, around the $10 mark. Thanks to Lou over at The Beauty Vine for sharing the love via Instagram! I love when I discover amazing new brands/products through my favourite social media platform.

The week is not over yet - will it bring any more goodies? I wonder!

What have you been hauling lately?

This week's haul

I have been quite good with spending lately I think...being so busy means no time to spend money. Anyway, on my lunch break the other day, I popped into Big W...

Big W buys

Some of the jewellery was priced to clear. Now, I am actually quite lacking in the jewellery/accessory department...I have a lot of fancy stone jewellery (not bragging, just explaining a point) that my dad buys me when he goes overseas for work, which is great, but I generally don't have many occasions where I can actually get away with wearing it. So on a day to day basis, I'm usually very plain. Why not buy a few things that I can wear on casual days? I'm wearing the purple studs today and they're soo cute! Also the Lipsmackers kit was a total nostalgia buy. I used these exact flavours when I was young and adored them. I love strawberry lip balm!

And I also placed an order with Pretty Serious Cosmetics! Their indie nail polishes look stunning. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the polishes themselves, by the time I got home on Friday it was 5pm so I was lucky enough to snap this picture. No doubt you'll see pictures when I use the polishes! The box at the top is actually a loose eyeshadow, its a deep brown chocolate colour. It only cost me $2 (on sale) for 5g so it's an excellent price. Again, you'll probably encounter it in a post in the future.

And those are my little purchases from the week! What goodies have you been buying lately?

Priceline Haul

I can actually go hauling again now. Here is my haul from yesterday...

Face of Australia Carnivale Nail Polish in 'Between the Flags'
Models Prefer Shadow Pencil in 'Down to Earth'
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
Maybelline Colossal Volum Express

Closer look at the polish and shadow pencil

Face of Australia Polish RRP $5.95
I have one of these textured polishes and I adore it. While I don't wear red very often, I think this might be nice to try out.

Models Prefer Shadow Pencil $9.99
I actually haven't tried anything by MP but I hear great reviews. So I thought I'd go for something that I don't have - eyeshadow in pencil form is completely new to me! The only other colour that was left was a nice champagne colour which I was initially drawn to, but I feel like this colour is more wearable on a daily basis.

Garnier Micellar Water RRP $11.99
This is the talk of the town at the moment. I picked it up as an afterthought as I was headed over to the counter, and when I got home I realised the lid was cracked pretty badly! I can't really be bothered getting it changed because I picked up the last one and the store I went to is out of my way. It is still usable though. From first impressions, it seems to be pretty good, but...it sort of just seems like water! Maybe it will grow on me a bit more with time.

Maybelline Mascara $19.95
Holy crapballs I've never spent so much on mascara in my life. I have heard really great things about this one so I guess I can splurge a little. I am excited to give it a go. I have a couple of mascaras lined up for 'night time wear', so this one will be my daytime one. The one I am currently using for daily wear is AWFUL! It does almost nothing and just smudges under my eyes after a few hours. It's the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Show Off mascara that I got in a GWP box. Glad I didn't pay for it!

And that is my haul for the week. Stay tuned, I think Priceline might have a sale coming up so keep an eye out for more hauls ;)

Have you tried any of these products?

Target beauty haul

Another day, another haul...

L-R
Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion
Nivea Soft Rose Lipbalm

Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion (sale price $5.59)
I'm a bit late to the shower body lotion party. I received some samples a while back and absolutely loved them, so after seeing it on sale today at Target I thought why not!

Nivea Soft Rose Lipbalm (sale price $2.76)
I have probably owned every single variation of the Nivea lip balm possible, so I couldn't pass this one up.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'San Paulo'
Essence Lipliner in Cute Pink

NYX Soft Matte Cream (RRP $12.95)
Ohh, NYX has finally made it to my local Target! My local store has a very small range, but I was also eyeing off one of the illuminators. I was immediately drawn to this beautiful colour and can't wait to try it out. I have only tried 2 NYX products in the past and they were okay-ish. Hopefully this is good.

Essence Lipliner (RRP $1.75)
I have one of the red lipliners and it's fantastic, but these days I am more of a pink lip gal so I figured a pink one would be good to own too. I can't believe how cheap Essence products are, it's rare to find anything decent under $2 these days.

So that is my mini haul of the day! I am actually planning to do a 'beauty no-buy' for the month of February to try and curb my beauty spending. I go back to uni next week which means I'll be working less, meaning less of an income. So if you see any haul posts in Feb...give me a virtual slap on the wrist! Although I still have the rest of the day...

Have you spotted NYX at your local Target store? What products have you been buying lately?

Chemist Warehouse haul

It's that time of year where sales are screaming our name. If you haven't purchased anything this post-Xmas sale period, I salute you - amazing willpower!

I am pretty scared of the shops at this time of year. Last year, I worked the whole day after Boxing Day, which is the equivalent of Boxing Day sales in my city because everything is shut on the 26th. Can I  just say, WORST shift of my life - it really brought out in the worst in people and I have never, ever seen a shopping centre so crowded. Anyway, because of that this year I didn't really bother going to the shops. However, seeing as Chemist Warehouse is open till 9pm on Friday's and the one closest to me is not in a shopping centre, I made a late visit last night...

The sale is 50% off cosmetics and up to 80% of fragrances...did your heart just skip a beat?!

L-R
Rimmel Apocalips in 'Solstice' (sale price $7.97)
Ralph Lauren 30mL perfume (sale price $26.99)
Rimmel Apocalips in 'Nova (sale price $7.97)
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable stain in 'Smitten'(sale price $8.98)

So awesome that I only paid $56.60 for all this. I probably would have spent more money but I was with my bf who was hungry therefore we couldn't stay long (typical!). I was very excited to see the lip products for so cheap - they are practically US prices (shock horror!). My motivation for going to the sale was to buy this perfume, a friend of mine was wearing it one day and I absolutely loved it so I'm super stoked about this. The sale is still going for another few days (I am not sure exactly when, I can't figure it out on the website but I think possibly 1st-2nd Jan?) so I *may* make another sneaky trip and buy a Marc Jacobs perfume for myself.

What awesome deals have you scored during post-Christmas sales?

New pretties!

It's that time of year where we have to empty out our wallets, but that doesn't mean we can't buy ourselves a few nice things!

L-R
Sukin Rose Hip Oil (RRP $19.99)
Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream in 'Ma-Li-Boo' (sale: $7.46)
Sally Hansen Triple Shine in 'Sparks Fly' (sale: $7.96)

I recently purchased a Sukin product (the purifying facial masque) and am absolutely loving it. I'll post up a review sometime over the next week so stay tuned! Everyone seems to rave about rosehip oil and now that I'm becoming a bit more skincare conscious, I'm jumping on the bandwagon.

Everytime I go through Priceline, the pink Australis Velour Lips is always out. Today I was in luck because ALL colours were in stock! I grabbed two of the pink shades, one for me and another for a friend. There has been so much hype around these pretties...so again, I'm jumping on the bandwagon (read: I am a sheep).

I was mostly there to buy small gifts for friends, but I also picked up one of the new Sally Hansen Triple Shine polishes. I have been seeing lots of pictures on Instagram and I could not resist. You know me, I'm a glitter addict.

Have you been buying yourself some small gifts this festive season?

Sneaky Priceline haul

Yes I know I wrote a Priceline haul post just two weeks ago (damn it) but yesterday was pay day soo...you know. While I am in the midst of desperately cramming for exams, I thought I'd make a quick trip to Priceline...

Face of Australia 'Carnivale' polish in Ferris Wheel $5.95
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in 'White On' $6.95
Savvy by DB Long Lasting Matte Lipstick in 'Gerbera' $6.99
Sukin Purifying Facial Masque $15.99

Face of Australia polish
Yet another polish I have succumbed to buying because I've seen everyone on Instagram sporting Carnivale nails. I am such a SHEEP! I just cannot ignore any nail trends.

Sally Hansen polish
I would probably never wear white polish on its own, however, I am going to my annual pharmacy ball in a few weeks and I'm wearing a mint green dress + white heels...so white nails will hopefully match?

Savvy lipstick
I saw a photo on Instagram (Instagram again...I have a problem?) by The Beauty Vine showing off the gorgeous new matte lipstick shades so I definitely had to hunt these down. I have tried one of these lipsticks before and it's fantastic quality so I'm sure this will be much the same.

Sukin purifying masque
I never used to be that into skin care products, but lately my skin has been pretty average looking. I keep getting annoying breakouts in bad places (like right now, one in the centre of my forehead) so I am trying to work on a new skincare routine rather than rely on spot treatments...which I'm finding useless, so if you have any recommendations please let me know!!

Have you made any 'sneaky' beauty purchases lately?

Priceline Haul

I'd be correct in assuming that we all get pretty excited about a Priceline sale, right? 40% off all cosmetics is an offer too good to refuse!

Here is my loot...

Sally Hansen Strengthening nail polish remover
(original RRP $5.45, sale price $3.27)
A slightly boring purchase, but the only reason I went to Priceline was because I had run out of remover...(who am I kidding?! of course its not the only reason!)

Rimmel Space Dust polish in 'Moon Walking'
(original RRP $6.95, sale price $4.17)
I have seen a lot of people posting pics on Instagram sporting these new Space Dust polishes, so as a self confessed lacquerista, I definitely had to join in on the fun. This colour looks super gorgeous, its a bit hard to see in the pic but its a lovely deep violet.

Rimmel 60 Seconds polish in 'Sunny Days'
(original RRP $7.95, sale price $4.77)
I own about 100 nail polishes when you throw in today's purchases, and this is the only yellow one! I'm not a huge fan of yellow, but I wanted a yellow polish to keep around for nail art.

Nude by Nature Soft Focus Illuminator
(original RRP $22.95, sale price $13.77)
Okay, I'm super excited about this. I already have a lifetime's worth of illuminators but I reeaally wanted this. We sell NBN at work and I always fondly eye this one off. I picked it up about 3 times before finally deciding to take it. Can't wait to try it out, my first NBN product!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polish in 'First Blush'
(original RRP $6.95, sale price $4.17)
Another polish for nail art - pale pink on its own doesn't suit me very well.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat polish in 'Bubble Plum'
(original RRP $9.95, sale price $5.97)
Another hyped up trend on Instagram! How could I resist!

Overall, I'm pretty happy with what I picked up and I saved close to $30 because I used my quarterly sister club voucher. I really wanted to try out the Australis Velour Lips but the stand was completely wiped out. Other than that, all good!

Did you pick up anything from the Priceline sale?

Keeping things wrapped up...

Just a quick post today to see if anyone else does this - you buy a bunch of things, but don't unwrap  them until months later when you actually use it. I felt like going on a beauty splurge today, but then realised I have a few things that I bought months ago and have left untouched in my drawer!

Maybelline New York Color Tattoo in 300 Gold Shimmer (Limited Edition) RRP $11.95*
Mirenesse Super Long Wear Gel Mineral Face Colour in 30 Aquamarine RRP $39.95
Boe Beauty Jumbo Wind Up Lips in 21 Manic Pink Jumbo Lips RRP $2
Savvy by DB Classic Blush in Rose RRP $4.99
Savvy by DB Graduating Bronzer RRP $6.99

*LE Color Tattoo's are not available in Australia

Do you keep things in their original packaging until you use them? What do you think I should use next?
